Income type in retirement
RetirementFireLotse distinguishes two income types in the pension phase: the statutory pension (or annuitized insurance products) and a civil-service pension (Beamtenpension).
The choice mainly controls the labels in the roadmap and on the cards – the calculation logic stays the same (you enter the net amount directly).
For the health-insurance model there is a separate switch in the health-insurance section of the pension phase. Typical defaults: statutory pension → KVdR (statutory health insurance for pensioners), civil-service pension → Beihilfe (state healthcare subsidy for civil servants) + private top-up insurance. You can combine the models freely, though.
PensionStatutory pension, company pension, Rürup or an annuitized life/pension insurance. KVdR (half contribution, investment income exempt) is the standard.
Civil-service pensionCivil-service pension (~71.75% of final salary). Beihilfe typically covers 70% of medical costs; the rest is covered by private top-up insurance with a fixed monthly premium.
